Pat Keegan, Owner and Principal
Pat’s passion is teaming up to launch or upgrade energy efficiency programs. He brings over 30 years of energy-related experience at the local, state, national, international, and non-profit level. His experience spans residential and commercial energy efficiency and renewables. Pat began his career in the 1980s at the Washington State Energy Office, managing pioneering energy conservation programs and working with all types and sizes of utilities. He left the region in the 1990s to direct energy efficiency initiatives in developing countries around the globe with the International Institute for Energy Conservation. In 1997 he began working at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory on energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives, and next became the Executive Director of the Colorado Energy Science Center in 2001, where he focused on energy efficiency and solar programs, launching the nation’s first energy makeover contest and organizing an aggressive marketing and education program funded by contractors and suppliers. Hired by Ecos in 2008, he became the VP of Residential Programs and when Ecos became Ecova he led the effort to develop markets with rural electric cooperatives and municipal utilities. Pat launched Collaborative Efficiency in January of 2013 to provide consulting services to cooperatives and municipal utilities at any stage of their pursuit for energy efficiency.
